If You Were A Brand

I was recently invited by PepsiCo to join a dinner being hosted in view of the charismatic CEO Indra Nooyi’s visit to India. She was voted the most powerful woman in business in US for the third year in a row by Fortune Magazine. Irene Rosenfeld who heads Kraft was the second most powerful. Irene is a PepsiCo alumni as well. Moral of the story: Food and beverages make people powerful. So eat well, I told myself. Read more

Marriage that is HR
“Married but Available, that’s a book, written by Abhijit Bhaduri, an HR employee with Microsoft. No, the book is not about promiscuity. It deals with HR management. Bhaduri, in fact, has a thing for titles. His first book, of which this is a sequel, was called Mediocre but Arrogant.
An intriguing title draws readers. The book launch at Crossword on September 29 had event manager Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee conversing with the author. For someone who works backstage arranging such book launches, it was novel to have Chatterjee taking centrestage, exchanging notes with the author on studying “Eco honours” and following it up with management degree, which both the HR manager and the event manager seemed to have done.”

Married But Available - Launched by ??
September 26, 2008
Eventually it all fell into place. The evolution of the Word document into typeset pages was beautiful feeling. It was like getting a sneak preview of the future. Until the very end, my editor Karthika and I, argued over the rationale of phrases and the “authenticity of voice” of characters. Look, I wanted to show off about the last bit myself having learnt about it recently. The book was typed and printed and bound and ready to be launched. The call from the Harper Collins office really set my pulse racing.
