Dear Sir,

Very nice post...extremely informative...

I think the biggest challenge in L&D today is to make leaders realize that the onus is also on them to proactively embrace learning.

So it's extremely important that the L&D team fosters a culture which compels the leaders to embrace that learning in a proactive manner.

So it's training, culture building and yet much beyond....

regards,

What are your thoughts on the adage- "Leaders create leaders. managers create followers" ?

"So true..... Leadership Development is the need of the hour....since leaders make things happen..... Everyone is a leader in his/her terms but the actual grooming and harnessing is the thing which is very necessary... even a small kid can lead, influence and pull others together....leadership is all about pulling people rather than pushing .....I suppose "Leadership Development" is not a one day task, it requires concentrate efforts and regular practice and ultimately you become the example for others to follow."

The Leadership Development function exists to help the organization gauge the future, create the model of leadership that will be needed to be successful today as well as to create a benchmark of what the future will demand of leaders. The world is changing faster than we think. Business models are changing. Nokia makes 13 cell phones per second. 1000,000 books are published every year. Google search scanner can digitize 1000 pages an hour. Communication is changing and so is the medium........
